Hi, I'm Martha.
I’m a software engineer and artist, interested in the intersection of art and code. I’m currently a freelancer open to new projects, especially in the arts, nonprofits, education, and data governance. I have previously worked at The New York Times and Two Sigma.
- In 2022-23, I took time off from full-time work to travel, volunteer, create, and reflect. A few of my projects this year included thru-hiking the Long Trail in Vermont, volunteering on organic farms in four countries, and studying pottery and fine arts.
- At NYT, I worked on the data governance team, building internal tools to make it easy for the Times to handle users' data responsibly and respect their digital privacy.
- I'm passionate about education and access. I served as the 2019 Associate Director of Admissions for hackNY, a nonprofit whose mission is to build a diverse and inclusive tech community in NYC. During university I was a tutor for Brown Refugee Youth Tutoring and Enrichment, and coordinated the Artemis Project.
